Legislative Redistricting changes
-------------------------------------------------------
Georgia 2000 has incorporated the 2002 districts into Map-based and Menu-based Reporting. The map in Map-based Reporting includes layers for Georgia House districts, Georgia Senate districts, U.S. Congressional districts and voting precincts. Now you can apply Georgia 2000's reporting and analysis capabilities to the new districts.

Find out what data is available for the 2002 legislative districts at the report sources page (under "reports available by"):

Other changes include new map images of Georgia and the Atlanta metro area and a Poll Locator. Find out more at the redistricting page:

NEW! Zoom to your legislative districts
-------------------------------------------------------
You can now zoom right to your state and federal legislative districts in Map-based Reporting. Go to Map-based Reporting to follow the example below:
http://www.georgia2000.org/map_interface

1. In the legend (the gray box to the left of the map), check the box next to the U.S. Congress layer to turn it on. Click the Zoom to Location button (a magnifying glass with an arrow pointing right). A box will appear.

2. Choose U.S. Congressional Districts from the Category menu.

3. Type in the district number (e.g., 13) for the Location.

4. Click OK. The map will be zoomed in to U.S. Congressional District 13.

-------------------------------------------------------
NEW! Georgia Technical Colleges added
-------------------------------------------------------
Georgia 2000 announces the addition of Georgia technical colleges. A Technical Colleges layer has been added to the map in Map-based Reporting, and the new report "Technical Colleges Contact Information", which gives the address and web site of each technical college, is available from both Menu-based and Map-based Reporting.

Saving reports as spreadsheets
-------------------------------------------------------
You can save any Georgia 2000 report as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. When you create a report in Menu-based or Map-based Reporting, follow these steps to save the report as a spreadsheet.

1. On the report page that comes up, go to File - Save As. You may get a message that says "This Web page may not save correctly. Would you like to save it anyway?" Click OK.

2. In the box where you choose where to save the file, find a suitable location such as your Desktop. Where it says File name, just type in ".xls" at the end of the given name. Don't change the "Save as type" box.

3. Open the .xls file. You may get a message saying a file is missing; just click OK. Then the report should appear in the spreadsheet.
